I come from Eastern Europe, where my family's history has shaped my long-standing interest in politics, identity, and the region's complex past. I have lived and worked in various countries, including the UK, Belgium, Germany, Serbia, the USA and Sweden.
I currently hold a position of a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) at Södertörn University, Sweden, and Editor-in-Chief of the Belarus Voices book series at Ibidem Press. My research focuses on EU democracy promotion and Russia's authoritarian diffusion in the Eastern Partnership region; Belarus's domestic and foreign policy; elections and protest dynamics in non-democratic regimes; and the political economy of international sanctions.
Alongside my academic work, I have extensive experience engaging with diplomats and policymakers contributing research-based insights to policy discussions. I have organized and spoken at high-level events on European and transatlantic security, including the NATO Public Forum and the Munich Security Conference.
I hold an MA in Human Rights from the University of Manchester, an MA in International Relations from the College of Europe, and a PhD from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences, where I was a Marie Curie Fellow. I have also held fellowships at leading policy and research institutions, including the Harvard Davis Center, the European Parliament, the Wilson Center, and the UK Parliament.
My work has been published in leading academic journals such as Europe-Asia Studies, East European Politics, and New Perspectives.
This website is my personal platform where you can find more information about my research, publications, and public engagement activities.
I work at the intersection of research and policy, translating complex political dynamics into clear, actionable insights.
I am deeply committed to keeping Belarus and Eastern Europe in the international spotlight, particularly at a time when the region faces profound political and security challenges. My work is driven by a focus on developing sustainable, research-informed approaches to complex issues such as Russia's war against Ukraine and the future of democratic governance in the region.
